Rugs are something that one can place in rooms to cover up the floor. They never get unnoticed as rugs kind of warm up the environment. When placed correctly, it can make a room cosier and sometimes add unity to the décor.
Now, if one goes by the market – there are different kinds of rugs available made of different materials (keeping the sizes, and designs apart) – and this can create enough confusion on what to choose. Well, when it comes to choosing the right kind of rugs, one has to decide for which room they are looking it for. In most cases, rugs are placed on living rooms but one can also place them in bedrooms, and hallways. In fact, if one lives in a cold area then it can add some warmth when one is walking in the rooms. Rugs can also be used for sitting, and lying down because it has a comfort quotient as well. It is also a decorative object that covers a considerable area on the floor and they can stand out as a focal point in a room.
It is also said that if floors are covered with rugs, they do not get dirty often. They preserve the floors from scratches, dust accumulation, and stains.
How to choose the Right Rug?
First of all, one has to check the sizing of it. The rug has to fill the space of the room for which it has been bought. So, one needs to have an idea about the floor size of the room, and then accordingly choose the size of the rugs. The rug should fill the floor but also should leave spaces for people to move around freely. When a rug is placed in a room, it makes the room look larger.
TV and Living Room
In case of a living room, the rug should start from under the sofa (if there is one), and reach the other corners of the room covering the center tables, poufs, and corners. Living rooms should have large rugs that come in standard sizes. This can be the focal point of the room if one wants to. One can go for bold colors or prints when it comes to living room rugs. If one wants to go for a neutral color, then it should match the texture of the wall colors.
Bedrooms
Bedrooms can also have large rugs covering the beds, and the bedside tables. Not necessarily it should cover the entire room but leave space for the side walkways. The main purpose of keeping a rug in a bedroom is to mark the way to the bed, and protecting the feet from the cold floor when one is walking towards the bed. One can go for a new texture when it comes to bedroom rugs so that it can add to the character of the room.
Dining Room
When it comes to dining rooms, the rugs are mostly chosen as the same shape of the table. This is a dynamic space that has a lot of movement. Rugs can protect the floor from stains, and other accidents here. But the rug has to be durable, and highly resistant in this room.
When it comes to rug materials, it is also something very important to check. In most cases, they are made of natural or synthetic materials. It is mostly advised to use rugs made of natural materials like jute, sisal or cotton because the texture becomes more prominent in them. They are also more durable than the synthetic ones, and when needed these can be washed easily as well.
